Pest problems are becoming more severe in Canada, especially within urban rental spaces. If the city decides to withhold units that show signs of pests, it will mean a tighter supply market for renters. The big three pests to be concerned about are bed bugs, roaches and rodents. The city of Toronto wants to enforce these laws so that the buildings have better pest control programs in place. The concern with pests is the time involved to stay on top of the problem.
