Start by sealing any cracks or gaps in doors, windows, and foundations to minimize entry points. Ensure proper ventilation and drainage to reduce moisture, as earwigs are attracted to damp areas.
Trim vegetation, especially near the structure, to limit hiding spots and create a barrier. Remove organic debris, such as leaf piles and mulch, from close proximity to the building. Inspect incoming plants or materials for earwig presence before introducing them indoors. Keep indoor areas clean and dry, especially kitchens and bathrooms, where moisture accumulates. Consider implementing yellow light bulbs for outdoor lighting, as they are less attractive to earwigs compared to standard white bulbs.
