Age  -

John Taylor of Lethbridge, Alberta, passed away in his sleep March 6, 2023, in Wetaskiwin, Alberta at the age of 94.

John was predeceased by his brothers James "Jim" and Harry, his wife Martha “Ann” and his son David. He is survived by his daughter Marie (Craig) Taylor Harper, grandsons Daniel (Janice), Charles, Stephen (Brandi) and their families, as well as great-grandchildren, great-nieces and numerous other relatives and close friends that he maintained relationships with.

John was born in Oldham, Lancashire, England, a place, where at it’s peak in the early 1900s, was spinning more cotton than almost anywhere else in the world. So, of course, John worked in the cotton mills. In the years that followed he met the love of his life, served in the British Navy, the Canadian Army, and the Canadian Air Force. He ended his work career performing security at the University of Lethbridge. He kept busy during his retirement with activities like gardening, genealogy, collecting plates, volunteer work and learning new things, like how to build and repair computers.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM, on Wednesday April 26, 2023, at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4 St S, Lethbridge, AB, with Reverend Daniel Surya officiating. Those who knew John are welcome to attend. Interment to follow in Mountain View Cemetery 1210 Scenic Dr S, Lethbridge, AB.

Flowers are gratefully declined. Those who wish, memorial donations can be made to non-profit organizations supporting those living with Alzheimer’s Disease.
