Age  -

Sandra Ann Skeith, beloved aunt and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 12, 2023, at the age of 70.

Born on October 20, 1952, in Lethbridge, Alberta, Sandy came into this world with Cerebral Palsy during a time when disabilities were often disregarded. Despite the doctors' advice to leave her at the hospital, Sandy's parents took her home, lavishing her with love and attention. Sandy's strong will and indomitable spirit enabled her to thrive, and she became an inspiration to those who knew her.

Sandy's love for travel was well known, and she had seen thousands of miles of beautiful scenery in the world. Despite her condition, she was fiercely independent and would try to do everything on her own. She was active in her community, participating in art therapies, horseback riding, and swimming, which she loved. Sandy's favourite joy in life was spending time with her family, especially during the holidays. She loved to make everyone laugh with her teasing and jokes, and her coffee was always a must-have.

She is survived by her nephews Randy Slawson (Cindy) and Shawn Skeith; her niece Cyndee Norton; great-nieces Angie Fehr (John), Chelsea Tolton Bulnes (Quintín), Brittany Tolton-Baines (Michael); Sarah Francoeur (Darryl) and great-nephews Travis Francoeur (Jessie); and Ian Skieth.

She was blessed to be called “great-great Aunty” to Taya and Tysen Fehr, and Errett Baines. In addition to numerous other family members and many friends.

Sandy was predeceased by her parents Robert Howard Skeith and Janet McKay Skeith, her siblings Howard Gary Skeith, Grace Gail Skeith, and Sharyn Skeith, and her niece Janet Tolton.

In her later years, Cerebral Palsy took its toll, and although it was difficult for her to express herself, Sandy's love for her family and friends never wavered. She will be missed by all who knew her, and her legacy of perseverance and positivity will continue to inspire those she touched.

Rest in peace, Aunty Sandy
