Erin went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Lethbridge in 1993. As she clarified her career goals, she pursued and completed a Master of Library and Information Science at the University of Western Ontario in 1996. While in graduate school, Erin gained experience working at the National Library of Canada in Ottawa.

After graduation, Erin secured a challenging position working as the Librarian in the Office of the Leader of the Opposition in Ottawa.  She enjoyed the opportunity to see the inner workings of parliament, and was tasked with, among other things, researching questions for Question Period.

Later she worked for the Northwest Territories Geological Survey in Yellowknife, NT.  This   position gave her the opportunity to become connected with many close friends in Yellowknife as she deeply loved the community environment there.

She was a board member of the Association of Earth Science Editors. Some of Erin’s favourite activities included golfing, Opimian Wine Club events, gardening, crafting with friends, the game of Scrabble, shopping, theatrical productions, Zumba workouts, aquafit classes and collecting souvenirs from her travels. Erin loved jazz and symphony music.

Erin had a love for travel and enjoyed many memorable vacations while experiencing new places. She traveled with her friends to New York City, Chicago, Napa Valley of California, Disneyland and Disney World. With her parents, Erin enjoyed trips to Hawaii several times over Christmas break.

Erin will be most remembered for her quick sense of humor, and kind, gentle spirit. She was a diligent, conscientious worker in her professional career. As shared by her friends, she was sweet and fun loving and witty, had a bright smile, was always up for new adventures, generous and kind in nature, had a huge thoughtful heart, and was a creative beautiful woman.

Erin is survived by her mother Donna, her uncle Ken Roxburgh (Louella) as well as many cousins and friends.

Erin was predeceased by her father Peter, her brother Cory and her grandmothers, Hettie Blades and Ruby Palmer, cousin David Mitenko and Uncle Nat and Aunt Mary Mitenko.
