Age  -

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Russell Lloyd Maciejko on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at the age of 69 years.

Russ was born on November 10, 1953, in Burnaby, British Columbia. His family then moved to Kamloops, where he and his family loved to go camping and water skiing. Growing up, he played in the school band and participated in Sea Cadets. In high school, he loved to play football, and after graduating, he worked with his dad, Jack, who taught him how to build houses.

He moved to Calgary, Alberta where he founded his own framing company, Bear Brothers Construction. He moved to Lethbridge and started working at Marshall Auto Wreckers, before continuing his work framing houses. Russ had two daughters, Alexis and Emily, whom he loved very much and worked hard to provide for, even building four homes for his family.

Russ’ true passion in life was music. He loved playing guitar, the drums, the keyboard, really any musical instrument he could get his hands on. He was happiest when sharing this love of music with others, riding his motorcycle on the highway with his brother, and spending time with his family.

Russ is survived by his children, Alexis and Emily, his sister Rita, his nephew Jeff, nieces Kaylee, Alissa, and Cassandra, and their partners, his grandson Rowan, and his great nephew and niece, Griffin and Matilda. He is reunited with his parents, Jack and Nora, and his brother Ron.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 3:30 to 5:30 pm on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at Nicholas Sheran Picnic Shelter.
