Age  -

Mr. James Lloyd of Lethbridge, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Pamela Lloyd, passed away peacefully at Good Samaritans Park Meadows on February 16, 2024, at the age of 102.

Jim was born on August 18, 1921, in Manchester, England, to parents Robert and Mable Lloyd. At the age of six, he moved with his family from England to settle in Coleman, Alberta, where he spent his formative years. The outbreak of the Second World War saw Jim serving for four years in Europe with the Canadian Armed Forces. Upon his return from the war, he married his beloved Pamela Mather in 1946. Together, they welcomed their daughters Rosemary and Jacqueline.

The family later moved to Calgary, where Jim worked for the Union Packing Meat Company. After a decade in Calgary, he relocated his family to Lethbridge in 1960 and began a career with the Health of Animals Department. His role there entailed caring for the well-being of farm animals across the region.

James was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Pam, his brother Ron Lloyd and his sister Joan (Roland) Allen. He is survived by his daughters Rosemary (Doug) Martin, and Jacqueline (Dennis) Coburn; grandchildren Rhonda (Neil) Berent, Brian (Wendy) Martin, Deanna Coburn, and Daniel (Rachelle) Coburn; great-grandchildren Cody Martin, Zachary Martin, Christopher Coburn, and Noah Coburn.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and kindness that will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of his daughters, Rosemary and Jacqueline, his extended family, and a community that was enriched by his presence. Our thanks for the excellent care given to Jim by the staff at Good Samaritan. At his request no memorial service will be held.
