Mrs. Consuelo Gomez Carcamo of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. Basilio Carcamo, passed away peacefully at Good Samaritan’s Park Meadows Village on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at the age of 95 years.

Consuelo was born on April 6, 1929, to Augustine and Viviana Sabido in San Ignacio, Belize. She graduated from St. Catherine’s High School and briefly worked for the Government of Belize. She was one of the first women to have and ride a motorcycle to and from work. She met and married William Gomez and became a housewife and also helped run a farm and distillery. Dad passed in 1976, and she carried on with the farm until 1989. She moved to Canada in 1990 and married Basilio Carcamo and they led a wonderful life together until 2014 when he passed. She moved in with her son Martin, and then to the Blue-Sky Lodge. She ended up moving into Good Samaritans Park Meadow Village where she resided until she passed away on May 8, 2024.

Consuelo is survived by her son Martin Gomez (Loralee Mckay); grandchildren Andrew (Bailey) Johnson and their children Ronin and Raven, Matthew Macdonald, Brandon Firth, Kate Miller; grand dogs Daisy and Bud; and grand cat Tanner; brother Luis Sabido; as well as her loving nieces, nephews and their families.   

Besides her beloved husbands William Gomez and Basilio Carcamo, Consuelo was predeceased by her parents Augustine and Viviana; brothers Augustine, Armando and Tom; and sisters Carmelina and Pastora.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
