Lorraine left the reserve at a young age to pursue a career as a Health Care Nurses Aid and worked at St. Mike’s Hospital. She later took a different path, to which she went into counselling and worked for Napi Lodge Treatment Center. Her health pushed her into early retirement, and she then made her home in Coalhurst, AB back in 1987. As the years progressed, she enjoyed the company of her kids, grandkids, great grandkids by watching them all grow up. She enjoyed being at home with her dog “iitani” and doing puzzles but would get away to play bingo, which soon turned to the casino, everyone’s fav hang out, where she was well liked and had many friends, including casino staff members.
In her at home spare time, she was an active Homicide Investigator, as she actively participated in the First 48. She and Papa Al also supervised the grandchildren as they became cigarette machine makers. Cigarette makers, we can all say we’ve witnessed each Grandchild on Grama & Papa Al’s lap, making smokes & drinking coffee.
