Marion Irene Belle passed away on January 17, 2024, at the age of 99.

Marion was born on August 21, 1924, and grew up in Didsbury, Alberta. She joined the Air Force the spring of 1943 and trained as a Nurse's Aid at Rockcliffe and St. Thomas, Ontario. She was later transferred to Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, where she served until her discharge in 1945. Marion then worked in a children's hospital on Vancouver Island until moving to Calgary where she met and married John Arthur Storvick. They moved to Bawlf, Alberta, where they raised three children, Wayne, Wendy and Douglas. In 1974 they moved to Lethbridge due to John's failing health. After his passing, Marion worked in a nursing home until she retired. She met Bud Belle at the church they both attended, Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, and in 1994, they were married until Bud's death in 2003.

She is survived by two brothers; daughter Wendy (Larry) Siebrands; son Doug Storvick; and grandchildren Claire, Alana, Graham, Melanie and Amand; and great grandchildren Brendan, Miles, Ben, Eli, Forrest, Layne, Emma, and Jack.

Marion is predeceased by her parents, Eli and Margaret Persinger; four brothers; four sisters; her husband’s John and Bud, and one son Wayne.

Marion liked to play cards, put puzzles together, and go camping. Most of all, she liked to create beautiful things. She was skilled at flower arranging, knitting, paper tole, crocheting, embroidery, ceramics and sewing. But she was renowned for her skill at hardanger for which she won many a prize at the fair. Marion loved to bake and work in the garden. She was a member of Sons of Norway for fifty years.

Marion brought much joy to her family and friends. She laughed easily, was a good listener, and was skilled at making people feel comfortable. She will be greatly missed.

A Graveside Service will be held in the Spring.
