Our Technology
Not all Optometrist clinics in Calgary offer the same level of advanced eye care, but at Glenmore Landing Vision, we’re committed to setting a higher standard. We bring our patients the latest innovations in optical technology, using state-of-the-art equipment to ensure thorough and accurate eye exams. Our commitment extends beyond diagnostics, as we also offer the newest products from leading lens manufacturers for both glasses and contacts. By providing premium products and cutting-edge care, we help you achieve the best possible vision.
Ocular Coherence Tomography (OCT)
Think of OCT as a super-sophisticated ultrasound for your eyes, but instead of using sound waves, it uses light waves. This amazing technology lets us capture real-time images of the eye's internal structures, illuminating and scanning the retina in detail. This level of detail helps our optometrists detect even the tiniest signs of eye disease, allowing for earlier diagnosis and more effective treatment. In addition to early disease diagnosis, the OCT is handy for monitoring the progression of eye conditions and can even detect systemic diseases like high blood pressure, multiple sclerosis, and vascular diseases.
Optomap
Our Optomap technology gives us an ultra-wide, high-resolution image of the retina, providing a panoramic 200-degree view of the back of the eye—four times wider than traditional photos! This wider view allows us to detect potential problems sooner and compare images from visit to visit, so we can better track changes over time. Early detection is key, and Optomap helps us achieve just that.
TearLab
Do you suffer from dry eyes? Tearlab is a fast, comfortable, non-invasive test that offers valuable insights into the quality and composition of your tears. It’s as easy as a quick swipe—using just a tiny amount of your tears, it delivers accurate results in seconds. By analyzing your tear osmolarity (tear concentration and makeup), TearLab helps our optometrists understand the severity of your dry eyes and helps the doctor determine the best treatment for you.
iLux
The iLux device is specifically designed to treat Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD). MGD is a condition where the glands that keep your tear film oily become blocked which causes tears to evaporate too quickly and leaves your eyes feeling dry and irritated. 86% of dry-eye sufferers are reported to have clinical signs of MGD. MGD is a chronic condition and can get worse over time if left untreated. As a treatment, the doctor will use the handheld iLux device to gently warm and apply pressure to your eyelids, helping to unblock the glands and restore proper oil flow. This treatment can significantly reduce dry eye symptoms, bringing relief from gritty, uncomfortable eyes and helping to improve your overall tear quality.
