Not at all. Seeking therapy is a courageous step towards self-improvement. Recognizing when you need help and reaching out is a sign of strength, not weakness. Everyone faces challenges, and therapy provides a supportive environment to explore and overcome them. You already possess strengths that you've utilized in the past. However, if you're feeling overwhelmed, it may be challenging to access those strengths. In our sessions, I will work with you to identify your strengths and help you implement them effectively in your current situation. Remember, asking for help is a powerful act of self-care and resilience.
The distinction lies in the expertise and perspective that a mental health professional brings to the table. While friends and family offer valuable support, a trained therapist possesses the skills and experience to guide you effectively. They can introduce new approaches, teach coping mechanisms, and provide unbiased listening without judgment or preconceptions.
Moreover, therapy sessions are completely confidential, ensuring your privacy and comfort in discussing personal matters. Unlike confiding in loved ones, where there may be concerns about privacy breaches or altering relationships, therapy offers a safe space for exploration and growth without such risks.
Ultimately, seeking professional help allows for a structured, supportive environment where you can address challenges and develop strategies to navigate complex emotions and situations effectively.
While medication can be beneficial for managing symptoms, it doesn't address the underlying causes of your challenges. Therapy offers a comprehensive approach to delving into the root of your issues, understanding your behaviours, and developing effective strategies to achieve your personal and relational goals.
Medication may be a part of your treatment plan and can be effective, especially when used with therapy. However, therapy provides a holistic approach to addressing your mental health concerns and empowers you with the tools and insights needed for long-term well-being.
Therapy is a personalized journey that varies based on individual needs and goals. I will tailor my approach to address your specific concerns and circumstances. During sessions, you'll engage in open dialogue and exploration, where you'll have the opportunity to share your experiences, thoughts, and emotions in a safe and supportive environment. Together, we'll collaborate on identifying challenges, setting achievable goals, and implementing strategies to foster growth and well-being. Your active participation and commitment to the therapeutic process play a crucial role in achieving positive outcomes. Rest assured, I'll be alongside you every step of the way, offering guidance, support, and encouragement as we work towards your personal transformation.
It's challenging to determine the exact duration of therapy as each individual's circumstances and goals are unique. The length of therapy depends on various factors, including your personal growth aspirations, level of commitment, and the underlying reasons prompting you to seek therapy.
Therapy is a collaborative process that unfolds at your pace, allowing you to explore and address your concerns comprehensively. Your active engagement and dedication to the therapeutic journey significantly influence the duration and effectiveness of therapy. Rest assured, I'm committed to supporting you throughout your process of growth and self-discovery, ensuring that you receive the guidance and tools needed to achieve lasting positive change.
Your commitment to maximizing the benefits of therapy is commendable. Active participation and dedication outside of our sessions are key to your progress and success. While we meet weekly, it's the efforts you put into your personal growth and development between sessions that will truly propel you forward. Consider incorporating therapy insights and techniques into your daily life, practice self-reflection, and engage in recommended exercises or activities. Additionally, maintaining open communication with me about your experiences, challenges, and progress allows for personalized guidance and support tailored to your needs. Together, we'll work collaboratively to empower you on your journey of self-discovery and transformation.
As a Registered Psychotherapist, I adheres to the ethical principles and practices set by The College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I encourage you to visit their website to learn more about the College and its benefits for you.
My services are not covered by OHIP (Ontario Health Insurance Plan), however, you might have coverage through an Employee/Family Assistance Program (EAP/EFAP), you will need to contact them and request to meet with me, they will then let you know if I am on their list of providers, they will then contact me and/or provide you with a file number, which you will need to give to me when you contact me to arrange your initial appointment. If you have extended benefits, you will need to provide the company with the receipt for reimbursement. I do not provide direct billing. Therefore, my services are
considered fee-for-service, which means means you will make your payment directly to me. The cost of an individual session is $123.90 + $16.11 (13% HST) equals $140.00 for a 45-minute session. Any service provided outside of your regular psychotherapy session has its own fee; this includes letters, notes for your employer, substance use evaluations,
and other similar services.
We accept E-transfer only. This can be paid by forwarding it directly to my email address: Noorayne@chevalierpsychotherapy.com
If you are unable to attend a session, please provide at least 24-hour notice. Otherwise, you will be charged a fee of $75.00 which must be paid prior to your next session.
It's important to check with your health insurance or employee benefit plan to see if they cover psychotherapy services, either partially or in full.
If you are unsure whether you are covered, please get in touch with your HR or union representative about the existence of an Employee Family Assistance Program (EFAP) through your workplace. If you have an extended insurance benefits plan, you can contact them to find out if your psychotherapy sessions will be covered.
Additionally, I am able to accept referrals from the Windsor-Essex County Victims Quick Response Program and the Criminal Injuries Board.
If you want to learn more about your insurance benefits, I suggest asking your insurance provider these questions:
· Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?
· Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?
· Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?
· Do I require a referral from a family physician?
· Am I covered to see a Registered Psychotherapist?
