Shayla Stephen is a Registered Social Worker and the Founder of Delighted Soul Counselling and Consulting Services Inc. She has over 15 years of experience working with diverse populations such as adults, children and youth (including those with developmental issues and special needs), faith-based communities, newcomer families and more.
Shayla graduated from McGill University with a Master of Social Work degree where she specialized in International and Community Development. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Concordia University specializing in Psychology.  She is licensed to offer services to residents of Quebec and Ontario.
Shayla has a sincere desire to see individuals and communities thrive. She believes in a holistic approach to healing where emotional, psychological, physical and spiritual aspects are considered as essential to well-being.
Although Shayla specializes in anxiety and stress management, she has provided counselling to individuals experiencing a wide range of challenges relating to depression, grief, trauma, sexuality, parenting, spirituality, relationships, workplace stress, and substance abuse. Through training and panels, she has equipped leaders to be more sensitive to their mental health needs and that of community members.  Her approach is non-judgmental, anti-oppressive and trauma-informed. She believes in respecting the lived experiences of others while offering a safe space for people to show up as they are.
